Community Building

In 2019 we set out to build a friendly, supportive and inspiring art space in Nottingham City Centre. The foundation of our building supports people's ideas and develops their creativity. Through art projects, exhibitions, workshops and events we have collaborated with hundreds of individuals. From our foundations we are now building a social enterprise that brings people together, provides space and builds community. 

Welcome to The Carousel community building.

  • We created The Carousel to bring diverse talents and ideas together. Our inclusive community now consists of small businesses, freelancers, remote workers, designers and a diverse group of artists and creative practitioners. We offer flexible and affordable memberships to suit your work requirements. All memberships include access to facilities that will develop productivity, encourage collaboration and help you find inspiration.

    We invite you to join our thriving community.

  • Beyond the workday, The Carousel transforms into a fully licensed, well equipped and exciting event space. Our space is a blank canvas for imaginative expression, cultural gatherings and private parties. We have hosted hundreds of events and welcomed thousands of people through our doors.

  • We produce exhibitions, mural projects and creative workshops for everyone to enjoy. Our community of artists and facilitators work alongside a range of clients to deliver exciting, engaging and ambitious creative projects.

Event Space

We host our own events with a focus on creativity and community as well as being a venue that can be hired for private parties and public events.

Our regular art workshops take place every Wednesday and are fun, supportive and accessible to people of all abilities. Alongside our Wednesday Workshops we have hosted a myriad of live performances, exhibitions, socials and private parties.

From Drag Brunch to Jake Bugg, live poetry nights to electronic music events, interactive light nights to markets and plant days, The Carousel is a unique, well equipped and accommodating venue.

We are licensed until 23:00, have an 100 person capacity and lighting and sound equipment.

    Community Work Day provides free access to The Carousel for remote workers, freelancers, owners of small businesses and anyone else who may need a community led workplace.
