Paper Making Workshop
Learn how to recycle used paper and create beautiful new handmade papers including natural and found materials, perfect for note cards, and starting points for your artworks.

Science-inspired, live art, lino printing
Scientist Aishah Nasir and creative Helen Goodman have collaborated to give you the chance to have a go at lino printing and to make science-inspired lino-prints. Your work will then be included in a community piece of art and displayed in the exhibition.
Creative Writing Poetry Workshop – Hannah Norris
Whether you're seasoned in poetry or just beginning your journey, our creative writing poetry workshop aims to spark your imagination and foster connections with fellow writers. Throughout the session, we'll explore a variety of poems, spanning from traditional to contemporary and engage in writing exercises using diverse prompts. Rest assured, there's no obligation to share your work aloud – this is a supportive environment for all levels of writers to explore and grow.
Natural History Photography Workshop - David McMahon
In this workshop, David will present his intriguing collection of natural history subjects, spanning from insects to beach life and beyond. He'll demonstrate his studio techniques for capturing these fascinating items. If you wish to snap your own images, feel free to bring a camera or smartphone. David will gladly guide you in capturing the essence of the specimens on display.
The Art of Communication through Cartoons & Comics – Steve Galloway
This workshop will explore the use of comics and cartoons as a way of communication. Exploring all forms of comic media from the Beano to Marvel and DC we will look at how art, text and design combine to create a form of visual communication. The workshop will be divided into segments of discussion and practice - no prior art skills required, and you do not have to share your work, this is an open and inclusive space to explore the power and dynamics of comics.
Blue Soup
Blue Soup is a brand new club night for Nottingham bringing you eclectic selections of soulful broken beats, fast-footed jazz, funky horns and spaced-out dub flavours to make you move. We’re delighted to be kicking things off at The Carousel, with an intimate party for adventurous music-lovers.
Lino Printing Workshop
Lino printing is an effective relief technique of creating dynamic designs that can be used again and again. During this workshop you will learn all the processes needed to create your own lino print artwork that you can take home to frame or gift to a friend!

Risograph Zine Workshop
Risograph Printing is a stencil based process which is perfect for making ZINES (mini-magazines). We will use the Risograph printer and it’s unique palette of inks to photocopy your artwork. You will work both collaboratively and individually to create copies of your ZINES!

Celebrating Global Queer Poetry with Hongwei Bao and Gregory Woods
This event celebrates global queer history, desire and creativity by launching two poetry chapbooks: Hongwei Bao’s Dream of the Orchid Pavilion (Big White Shed, 2024) and Gregory Woods’ They Exchange Glances: Gay Modernist Poems in Translation (Hercules Editions, 2024). Informed by different cultural traditions and composed in distinct styles, these poems testify to the persistence of queer desire even under difficult circumstances and the richness of queer history and heritage around the world.
DIY Etching Workshop
Etching is an Intaglio printmaking technique, whereby removing fine lines from the surface of a printing plate creates a design. Metal and corrosive chemicals are commonly used for this process but in this version you will be taught to etch using common household items!

Batik is a traditional textile technique that uses wax resist and dyes to create intricate and expressive fabric designs, attributed to Indonesia and found throughout the world. Sink your teeth into a curated selection of horror short films celebrating female desire, rage, and sexuality, all while we playfully toy with the dual nature of the term 'bodycount.'
Whether you're here to celebrate your 'bodycount' in the bedroom or 'bodycount' in the graveyard, we're not here to judge or ask questions—just to provide an unforgettable experience.
Cyanotype Printing with Amelia Daiz
Cyanotype, or sun-printing, is a photographic printmaking technique which uses a light sensitive medium to create images. During this workshop you will learn about the process, and how different chemicals react to light and be able to experiment using object and images to create an artwork!

Step into the stangely familiar worlds of Jim Gibson and Joshua Jones as they read from their acclaimed short story collections, The Bygones and Local Fires.
The Bygones offers a glimpse into a specific part of the world at a specific time in history. These small stories range from the very real to the very bizarre, taking you on a journey that explores the hidden layers of life and fiction.
Local Fires sees debut writer Joshua Jones turning his acute focus to his birthplace of Llanelli, South Wales. Explore themes of identity, gender, sexuality, toxic masculinity, and neurodivergence in a collection versatile in its observations, as the misadventures of the town's inhabitants threaten to spill over into an incendiary finale, witness the emergence of a singular new Welsh literary voice.

Ichabod Wolf - performs songs about myth, morality and unemployment in a distict baratone voice.
