DIY Etching Workshop

Etching is an Intaglio printmaking technique, whereby removing fine lines from the surface of a printing plate creates a design. Metal and corrosive chemicals are commonly used for this process but in this version you will be taught to etch using common household items!

What you will do…

During this workshop you will learn the processes of designing, etching and printing your own design to take home with you. Etching is a great way to transform and repeat illustrative designs and sketches as well as play with abstract shape and texture.

This version of etching using common household items like tetra packs, nails and a pasta machine to create professional printed pieces…intrigued? Book a place now!

This workshop is led by artist Amelia Daiz; a socially engaged artist who has been working professionally as an artist and workshop facilitator for over 6 years. Her practice is multi-disciplinary, often including elements of print, text and participatory work and has been exhibited locally and within Europe. She is the founder of the organisation Meanderers and is an associate artist at Nottingham Contemporary.
